Dan Carrillo

I’m a landscape photographer.

I believe Baja California gives us some of the best sunsets in the world. I’ve watched them fall over Playas de Tijuana, set the ocean on fire in Rosarito, linger between the hills of Ensenada and fade slowly over the vineyards of Valle de Guadalupe. On the other side of the mountains the light changes: golden over the Cuervitos dunes, vast across the Mexicali desert. And further south, an entire peninsula that never seems to end.

Based in Baja California, Mexico, I travel it slowly and photograph it mostly at the start and the end of the day, when the light is softest and the landscape goes quiet.
